Grief can arise from the death of a loved one, the end of a relationship, or the trauma of a life-altering event. Yet healing grief is not about solving or moving beyond it—it’s about creating space for its full expression and integration. Emotions tied to grief are not inherently negative or positive; they are sacred reflections of the love we carry, yearning for compassionate witnessing without judgment.

PROGRAM
 Day 1: 
  • Grief Process
    • There will be a one-on-one session to set intentions for the retreat, a deeper exploration of current challenges, and some helpful tools to begin practicing on the retreat
     
Day 2:
  • Morning Grief Yoga Class
    • This powerful class is a nontraditional yoga class based on Paul Denniston's work. We combine gentle, seated movements with music to access and express feelings stored in the body
  • Mid-day Guided Somatic Grief Process
    • This transformative session is a guided, experiential opportunity to identify sensations of feelings throughout the body and how to feel and release them healthily and gently
  • Late Afternoon Art Class
    • No previous art experience is needed with this free-flow session that opens a deeper opportunity for self-reflection and future goals
Day 3:
  • Morning meditation and yoga class
    • This session is a guided meditation and traditional hatha yoga class with specific prompts that help integrate some of the retreat's lessons
  • Letter Reading, Signs & Symbols
    • Letters to loved ones will be reviewed with a process around any lingering concerns or questions. We also discuss key ways of connecting to loved ones through common signs and symbols
  • Late Morning Closing Ritual
    • The ritual entails the symbolic release of old patterns that are no longer useful and the calling forth of a new vision for the future. Loved ones are honored with a painted rock on the ancestral path.
